Our History |
Bridgeport Engineering began as Bridgeport Robotics in 1996. Bridgeport Robotics competed in the BEST Robotics contest until 2002. During that time, Bridgeport Robotics was a frequent qualifier for Texas BEST. In 2014, after a 12 year absence, Bridgeport High School decided to form a team in the BEST Robotics contest. Within a few days, Bridgeport Robotics became Bridgeport Engineering, an engineering company that also worked with robotics. Bridgeport Engineering competed in the Heart of Texas Hub and finished second place in the game competition to qualify for Texas BEST. In 2015, Bridgeport Engineering finished in 5th place in the Heart of Texas BEST competition. In 2016, Bridgeport Engineering finished in 7th place in the Heart of Texas BEST competition and qualified for Texas BEST as a competition team. Last year, Bridgeport Engineering competed in CoCo BEST and qualified for Texas BEST as a UIL team. Robotics teams from Bridgeport High School have competed in BEST 11 times, and have advanced 8 times to Texas BEST.
